Relationships
Relationships are the most difficult and complex activities that we participate in. A healthy functional relationship is fundamental in achieving personal satisfaction and happiness. Currently, in the United States the divorce rate has hit an all time high. It is certainly easier to give up and get out, then to make an effort to repair the underlying problems. Domestic Violence, anger, and aggression have become rampant in our cities and in our homes. Most parents work out of the home and try to manage family, career, parenting, and relationships. There are consistently more couples who are seeking the help of a Mental Health Professional to help sort through the complex factors affecting the modern relationship.
Therapy focuses on providing education and communication skills to build a couple’s relationship. Certainly, what is fundamental in a relationship is similar in both home, as well as work. A dysfunctional relationship causes a multitude of problems from physical illness to social dysfunction and negative addiction. Poor mental health can result in poor and dysfunctional relationships. One’s happiness depends on learning how to maintain mutually supportive functional relationships.
